On January 10, 2019, a one-day Hindi workshop organized by NIC(HQ) was attended by the SDTC, Kochi officials.

On January 1, 2019, Mr. T. Mohana Das, State Informatics Officer and SIO, Kerala, addressed all the NIC officers and wished New Year and discussed about the New Year's resolutions.

NIC SDTC, Kochi bagged the SKOCH Order of Merit Awards 2018 (Click Here) on 22nd December 2018 for the two Projects namely,MyCoir Project (done for Coir Board) and MISAGO Project (done for AG’s Office).

As part of the Official Language Implementation activities a Hindi Workshop was organized on 29th November 2018. The program was inaugurated by Mr. T. Mohana Dhas (State Informatics Officer). Mr. Bibin Varghese, Manager (Official Language), Canara Bank, Zonal Office, Thiruvananthapuram gave a speech and presentation on "Public Speaking: a practical study". Officers from all the districts of National Informatics Centre, Kerala participated in the program through videoconferencing.

A workshop was organized on 18/06/2018 (2:30 pm to 4:30 pm) via VC on the Subject: "Implementation of OL Policy at Workplace and related Technology". The Speaker for this was Shri. Anil Kumar, Chief Manager (Official Language), State Bank of India, Local Head Office, Thiruvananthapuram

Swachchta Pakhwada observed in NIC from 1st to 15th February 2018. All the employees administered pledge on this occasion.

Coir Board Showroom Sales Management System presentation given to Hon’ble Minister Giriraj Singh at Manager's conclave-2018 held at Thiruvananthapuram on 8th Jan 2018. Training was also imparted during this programme. Inauguration of Showroom package was done in a ceremony on 9th Jan 2018 held at Thiruvananthapuram.

Lack of awareness of digital financial literacy, especially among the rural population is a major challenge in the country, more so in light of the Government’s recent demonetization and plans to make India a cashless economy. There is an urgent need to create awareness among the citizens, especially in rural and semi-urban areas regarding basics of digital finance services.

As part of the Government of India initiative to move on to Digital Payments, an awareness programme was conducted at Kendriya Bhavan, Kochi on 23/12/2016 organised by NIC SDTC Kochi. Mr.Sateesh Kumar, Lead District Manager, Union Bank also welcomed to the workshop and interacted with the audience in clearing their queries.

Officials from various central government departments located at Kendriya Bhavan gathered for the programme. The session went on to interactive mode with the participants and explained the features on various modes of digital payment; like USSD, UPI, Credit/Debit Cards, Adhar Enabled Payment System were briefed and educated to the participants.

The project titled “Digital Finance for Rural India: Creating Awareness and Access aims to enable Digital Financial hubs , by hosting awareness sessions on government policies and digital finance options available for rural citizens as well as enabling various mechanisms of digital financial services such as IMPS, UPI, Bank PoS machines etc.

The overall objective of the project is:

  • To enable Digital Financial Education Hubs, by hosting awareness sessions focused in their community and Panchayat
  • To inform rural citizens about government policies and about digital financial options available to them
  • To enable citizens to access and use electronic payment system (EPS) such as IMPS, UPI, Bank PoS machines etc...
  • To sensitize and enable merchants at Panchayat level to use Electronic Payment System.
  • Create awareness in rural India through workshops and awareness drives.
