Training & Skill Development Programmes
There is a growing need for NIC officers specialized themselves on specific technologies
in order to meet the growing e-Gov requirements (although they got very good experience
and domain expertise) and the role of NIC in the changing scenarios for quickly
re-positioning itself to address the technology requirements and expertise to manage
the e-Gov applications.
SDTC Kochi has the mandate to organize Skill Development Programmes on key technologies
for the benefit of internal NIC officials especially in the southern region.
SDTC Kochi is currently focusing on the following areas:
- Guidelines for Government Websites (GIGW)
- Security Audit
- Code Analysis and Coding Standards (Open Source / Microsoft)
- Open Government Datasets (OGD)
- Technology standards like Middleware, SDLC Activities, etc.
Academic Projects:
National Informatics Centre, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology
enrolls final year students from various educational institutions for undertaking
full semester project work. Students are selected on the basis of marks obtained
in previous semester/years of the degreee under which the project is to be done
& availability of suitable projects in NIC.Selected Students are normally eligible
